Mesolithic sites in Franconia. Coordinates and chronological composition data base, 2020_10_18_B.Spies
Abstract
The data set contains information on Mesolithic sites in Franconia and adjacent regions. Site IDs (column A) are structured regionally. Sites with 1001-1304 are located in Lower Franconia and directly adjacent areas. 2001-2097 are based on the activities of one private collector surveying a microregion in Middle Franconia over a period of 40 years. 3001-3015 are taken from Robert Graf (2010) Das Mesolithikum im Landkreis Kronach. Unpublished Magister thesis, University of Munich. 4001-4032 are based on the activities of different collections and literature surveys. Coordinates (columns C and D) are given in Gauss-Krüger, Zone 3. Columns E-J contain information on the number of chronologically relevant microliths per site. Columns E-H relate to an Early Mesolithic, column I to a Late Mesolithic and column J contains numbers on microliths present in all periods, including microburins.
