Abstract

This dataset is related to the master's thesis "Distribution modeling of paleofauna in the Western Mediterranean between the Heinrich events H5 and H4". The aim of the work was to generate a model for species distribution in the Western Mediterranean and to determine the best method in this context.
By applying three different methods (Bioclim, GLM, MaxEnt) from the dismo package, R was used to predict the distribution of eight cold-adapted prey species in the Late Pleistocene. The Geographic Information System (GIS) QGIS was used to produce the maps which are discussed in the master's thesis and presented there in extracts. The complete dataset is stored within this entry.

The supplementary data (supp_data.zip) contains the result maps of all species and all time slices as image file, the source code in R, and the raw value results as GeoTIFF.
Additional data (add_data.zip) contains all output files generated through the modeling process.
