GitLab for collaboration on code, data and documents

The CRC806-Database now offers a GitLab instance for the members of the SFB / CRC 806.

GitLab is an open source software to collaborate on documents and code, including any kind of programming or data projects, as well as for example LaTeX and Office Documents.

GitLab is in functionality to a large extent similar to the popular GitHub portal, but is securely hosted on infrastructure of the University of Cologne computing center (RRZK). In contrast to GitHub this allows us to collaborate on projects internally, but it is also possible to share repositories publicly.
