Here are two videos that show in a funny way, why you may want to have to think a bit about how you organize and later archive and publish your research data as a scientist.
The first video, by Karen Hanson, Alisa Surkis and Karen Yacobucci of the NYU Health Science Library, depicts a „data management horror story“ which many research scientists depending on the data of previous research probably stumbled upon in one or the other way.
From the description of the video on Youtube: „This is what shouldn't happen when a researcher makes a data sharing request! Topics include storage, documentation, and file formats.“
The second video, by Louise Patterton from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa, explains the basics of research data using the examples of many disciplines, like environmental and historical studies.
